Q: If I do not have a specific doctor in mind, would you be able to recommend a doctor?
A: Yes, your medical profile will be assessed by our care manager / panel of doctors for the most suitable specialist recommendation.

Q: Do I need a visa to enter Hong Kong for medical treatment?
A: Nationals of about 170 countries may enter Hong Kong visa-free for a period ranging from 7 to 180 days. Please check the following link for more information: www.immd.gov.hk/eng/services/visas/visit-transit/visit-visa-entry-permit.html.

Q: Would I be informed of the medical costs associated with my treatment before I come to Hong Kong?
A: A budget estimate of potential medical costs can be provided for your reference. However, final charges may vary depending on actual services required by the patient – we will monitor your account closely and keep you informed.

Q: Do I have to pay for treatment in advance?
A: Full payment based on the budget estimate including the treatment cost and administrative fee will be required prior to arrival and provision of medical care.

Q: What is the cost for a particular treatment?
A: After your case has been reviewed, a treatment plan will be tailor-made to your medical needs and a budget estimate will be provided to you.

Q: Do you accept international insurance at your hospital?
A: Subject to the terms and conditions of your insurance policy, international insurance can be accepted if the insurance company has an existing contractual agreement with our Hospital. Whilst the Hospital is not responsible for collecting payment on behalf of patients. IPS can assist you to facilitate insurance approval once the treatment schedule is fixed.

Q: Is there accommodation near the hospital for my family members?
A: Yes. Our team will provide relevant information of nearby accommodation to your family member(s) upon request.

Q: If I need assistance navigating the facilities of HKSH, will someone be available to escort me through my patient journey?
A: Yes. A care manager will be available to accompany you to and from your appointments for the duration of your stay with us.

Q: Can your hospital cater for special dietary needs?
A: Our Food & Beverage Department will make the appropriate arrangement upon request. Please inform our staff when you are admitted.
